Celebrating Carrie Rich: Winner of the 2025 Barrata Global Impact Award

It is exciting to see my friend Carrie Rich, Founder and CEO of The Global Good Fund, nominated for the Barrata Global Impact Award this year. Watching her receive the honor at Georgetown University’s Future of Global Business Conference felt incredibly rewarding, not just for her, but for everyone who believes in the power of social entrepreneurship to drive real change.

I’ve admired Carrie’s work for years. From building The Global Good Fund out of a passion for empowering high-potential leaders, to her relentless focus on supporting entrepreneurs who create positive, measurable impact around the world, she has proved that meaningful change starts with a bold vision backed by purpose. Her organization’s reach is remarkable. The Global Good Fund has helped create nearly 4,000 permanent jobs and improved over 11 million lives, in more than 70 countries. Carrie embodies the idea that anyone, anywhere, can use business as a force for good.

What truly stands out about Carrie is her approach to leadership. She pairs young professionals with seasoned executive mentors, provides access to capital, and champions practical development tools that are laser-focused on underserved communities. Carrie’s efforts don’t stay within the walls of her organization; she is a teacher, an author, and a thought leader, pushing healthcare, education, and impact investing forward.

When nominating Carrie for this award, I was inspired by her ambition to reach 100 million lives by 2030 and by her dedication to creating accessible pathways for social entrepreneurs. Seeing her recognized by the Barrata Center is a testament to the sheer scale and depth of her impact. It’s a privilege to support someone who doesn’t just dream of a better world, but builds it every single day.

Congratulations, Carrie! You are a role model for global business, an inspiration to emerging leaders, and a true catalyst for good.
